Welcome to Grant Neighborhood!

Grant Neighborhood is the north gateway to Oregon's Capitol Mall. Located at the north end of downtown Salem, it borders the Mall and encompasses a beautiful, historic part of Salem. Nearly all of our homes and buildings date to between about 1900 and 1940. We have one neighborhod park, Grant Park which is adjacent to Grant Community School. Grant Community School is a dual language immersion school and the only Kindergarten through 8th grade public school in Salem. Our neighborhood boasts about 150 businesses, six churches, numerous historic buildings, and about 1275 households. The Grant Neighborhood Association was founded February 2, 1976 and encompasses the smallest area of any of the nineteen Salem Neighborhoods.

Click on the Neighborhood Association Map link in the lefthand column to see just where we are located and to find out if you are one of our neighbors.

We currently have a full Executive Board with 15 members. The Board is active in pursuing the 10 goals that we have set for our neighborhood:

PRESERVE SINGLE FAMILY HOUSING
Maintain the Historical Character of Our Neighborhood
Support Local Businesses
Improve Traffic Safety
Provide Stewardship of Grant Park
Champion the North Downtown Plan
Enhance Our Relationship with Grant Community School
Promote Neighborhood Safety & Livability
Monitor Vacant Properties
Increase Participation in the Neighborhood Association.
